It has been a while!!

Hello to those of my readers who still check in! It has been a while since I've posted. It has been a very busy year with the two girls and a growing business. I am still working with a full schedule and plan to continue. I really love what I do and I don't plan to slow down. I just don't have as much free time to post here on my blog as I did in the past.

I was finally able to photograph some of my work from the past 6-8 months and I will try to get that posted over the weeks to come.

I also am now offering, at a limited basis, printing of any of my designs to metallic stock. I am very excited to offer this to my clients. I never was able to in the past. So, if you want metallic stock for any of my designs we definitely can do so.

This past August, JDS celebrated it's third year in business. As I enter my fourth year, my goal is to continue to provide my clients with a one on one experience throughout the design process and to make the experience as stressfree and smooth as possible while providing my clients with the best quality product(s) I can.

I have received many requests for paddle programs, but I was always intimidated by the idea of trying to make one, so I always turned brides away. I had worked with this client for at least 7 months now, on many different pieces for her daughter's wedding, so when she came to me with the request, I thought to give it a shot. I did some research to see how they go together and I did a mock up. I was pleased, so we set the order and got started. I am so very pleased with the finished product that I have added it to my Etsy Shop and am now offering it as part of my collection. Here we kept it simple with just a monogram on the front and the wedding party on the back but I can make these with really anything on the front and back. We kept the colors and motif the same as the other pieces I've created for this wedding. I think they really turned out to be beautiful and they will serve double duty to her guests as they can keep cool on the beach at the resort they are getting married at.

This couple got married in December and had used a Christmas color scheme. We did a metallic brown base layer, a metallic ivory for the second layer, and ivory for the printed layer. Their names and ages were set in green with the table numbers set in red.

Milene Style Pocketfold Wedding Invitation

I worked with Dina a few months back to create her wedding invitation. She wanted the Milene style invitation in a pocketfold. She also wanted to add a second layer of cardstock to her enclosure cards. We searched for quite some time to find the right color cardstocks, but finally found two that worked perfectly! I was so excited when Robin came to me for a save the date design incorporating a calendar. I've always thought they were such a cute idea, but never had the opportunity to create one for a client. She is going to upload the file to vistaprint and order magnets for her guests.

Jillian and Joshua got married this past weekend here in New Jersey. I created many pieces for their wedding. We started with the wedding invitations and went from there. I will be posting photos of the items over the next few days, but I'm starting with the favor stickers. Their colors were gold, burgundy and ivory. The favor stickers matched their wedding invitations which were based on the Emily Invitation Suite. These stickers are 3" round.

One of the couple's that I worked with on wedding stationery recently had a little baby girl. They ordered some favor stickers for her Baptism. They put them on candied apples for their guests.

This is a new pocketfold invitation design that I have created for a couple getting married this spring. They are having a romantic wedding, using all different shades of purples and cream. We used a floral motif in a soft purple to create a romantic garden feel on the invitations.

This couple named the tables at their reception after neighborhoods in Boston, MA. We used a charcoal grey colored cardstock, pink and white to coordinate with their decor.

I worked with this couple to create table name cards for their wedding reception. They had a beach themed wedding and named their tables after local beaches. We used a metallic navy blue color for the tented layer and a linen textured cream color for the printed layer. We used a simple seashell and starfish motif in orange.

Michael's father is a graphic designer. He created a monogram and a save the date for the couple. They came to me with those designs and asked me to create an invitation that would compliment the other pieces. I was thrilled to work on this invitation suite with this couple. We used their monogram design on the top of the invitation panel, then borrowed the fonts and colors to create the balance of the suite. It turned out to be a beautiful fall themed wedding invitation with browns and oranges.

I worked with the bride's mother on these flat table numbers. She selected a design that I created a while back and we customized the cardstocks to match the wedding colors. I also created a monogram with the fonts that were used on the wedding invitation to add to the bottom of the table number.

Marriage Announcements & Custom Designed Envelope Liners

Nicole and Tonny had me create their marriage announcements for them a few months back. They had a small, private affair and will be having a destination reception in February. They wanted to use their engagement photos to create envelope liners to use with the envelopes for the announcements. This is such a unique way to show off your engagement photos to your family and friends!

Cassandra and Daniel ordered their pocketfold invitations from me back in February. They had selected one design and, after seeing one of my newer designs, they decided this was the one for them. So after some redesign work, we created this invitation suite here. The colors work perfectly together and the scrolls on the escort cards "stack" in such a way that they flow together when they are placed in the pocketfold!

My two wonderful step-children were visiting from Georgia and, sadly, they will be leaving this weekend.
